Which of the ten commandments has been most effective at preventing crime? Which one has stopped the most carnage, adultery, lying, and so forth? Do you have a personal experience where in a heat of passion and you were just about to kill someone, and you thought, wait! That’s against the rules?

Sorry was it not one of the 611 commandments given to Moses? I guess you could say it is not one of the second batch that made the ten commonly referred too , but still it was a commandment I did not need to prevent me from doing it. Which was the point of the post and my comment. Be well. Hugs

Commands are almost useless when not followed by a deterrent consequence if not obeyed. Turns out fear of hell doesn’t work as well as we thought it did.

I haven’t killed anyone yet, but the day is young. I won’t need any ignoramus babble commandment to influence me one way or the other. I hope I have enough good sense not to kill someone today. But again, the day is young, I am human after all, and no one knows what fate will bring. If I have to kill/seriously injure someone to keep them from killing myself or a family member, it could happen. I cannot rule it out.
