Apologetics budding superstar Sheldon Agonson, has taken my statements and converted to mainstream apologetics. I am not angry with his twisting and lying and misplacing my words to analyze them out of context. I am sorry for his soul, as he, like so many before him have proven that lying and twisting is the only convincing argument for Jesus. An update was added to Websterss in line 2. I know, I was warned to stay away, and you were all correct in your advisories. But I’m happy to have another brother in hell to look over to Lazarus and Abraham, across that gulf of misery and lament eternity with me. Hell is for the heathen, but the servants in hell will be the liars. The only reason he would lie the way he has, is he knows there is no hell, and his need for dominating validation has trumped his senses. He continues to play from apologetics 101, and baiting accusations to attract endless replies to pad the stats bar for his two readers. This is either intentional, his reading comprehension is elementary, or English is his second language. I’m willing to give a pass if needed. Sheldon, in one post you have done what most apologist do in three. You have tagged atheism in your post, gleefully stating you were happy to have someone argumentative to call you out on your babbling accusations about atheist laziness to argue with you. Cherry picked points and ignored convincing arguments on morality. Sheldon, you keep saying you want an answer. The answers were given in the first paragraph. You may not like my writing style, but the answer you seek was given plainly. And lastly, you keep directing the comments to your site. Control is key for apologists. Editing and keeping control of the argument on your turf isn’t smart. It’s weak. You know damn well your comments would get eaten alive by our readers, and you hid in the confines of control. Hope you’re better than that with your family, but alas… that is the Christian male working in you. Once again, humanist morality outshines the god of the Bible and his followers. You have repeatedly accused me of attacking the church. Fact checking and quoting scripture is damning to the church on its own merits. I don’t need to attack. A careful reading of scripture shows your roots. And your bias can only be confirmed when you agree with its morality.

What Jesus said and inferred in the Gospels no longer holds gold in today’s modern hermeneutics/exegesis… as the “New Church Fathers” like Oral Roberts, Robert Tilton, Kenneth Copeland, Joel Osteen, and Kenneth Hagin, to name just five would scream from the pulpit! 😛

        #2 — Negative context from Jesus’ mouth about wealth, riches, material gain were all concepts of Essene, Nasoraean, Ebionite, and all the other outlying Jewish sects taught: ascetic lifestyle for God/Yahweh. Ignorant Hellenistic Christological Apotheosis believers today don’t know shit about. 😮

        Besides, Jim Bakker isn’t a “real” Holy Spirit filled Christian like the others. 😈 Hehehe

            Bottom-line is… with all the modern DISTORTIONS of Jesus’ true, pure teachings — with only a heavy understanding of his Jewish background and shown (partially via inference) from the Dead Sea Scrolls — you are absolutely right! Preachers, or what I call super-charged salesmen with degrees in marketing-pandering to human Placebo-effects and Peer-assimilation/pressure… can accomplish MEGA-churches like we see globally, but particularly in the gullible USA, that are bank-rolling their way into Paradise. Professor not to be insulting but to me these high charged Jesus preachers seem like the car salesman I have been dealing with since I took my car to the dealer and told them I was thinking of buying a newer vehicle. They are like the hang on ell fish on sharks and such. They cling to any word even when I repeat I am not buying today. One followed me for over an hour. He brought me four different models even though I kept telling him I was just looking not buying. I thought about offering him a sandwich if he would just leave me alone. ( I was having serving on my van at the dealership so I couldn’t leave ) Oh well does this mean that preachers are cars salespeople?               I think that is a great question Scottie and personally, yes! I feel they are because everyone under the spell of “the Holy Spirit,” that euphoric excitement are more vulnerable and gullible. In sports, for me soccer, if my team or myself got TOO pumped up, fired up, we ACTUALLY would make poor decisions. We’d get overly confident and too tricky and forget about TEAM. We’d forget about utilizing everyone’s talent on the team and be a show-off prima-donna, or in my case in goal… make a stupid cocky mistake.

              BUT the hypnotizing temptation for preachers and evangelists is the numbers game — the more you recruit, the better the payoff, and financial rewards in most all cases. But hey, it’s all for the Kingdom of God and the Rapture! 🤑

  5. There are two things I can not understand that I find prevalent in apologetics. The first is the moral high ground of lying for your deity / religion. The second is the firm determination to not see clear points in a conversation / debate. The idea that it is possible to do things you normally say are wrong in the act of promoting your god who is the moral authority for you is a concept I can not quite get my head around. The idea that ignoring and refusing to acknowledge a valid point of reality is just dumb I think, and it destroys your argument no matter what you are in favor of. A person arguing for the correctness of their religion who also claims the Earth is flat, that the sun goes around the Earth and makes claims against well known science is not worth taking seriously and can be dismissed instantly in my opinion. Have I missed anything? Hugs

These folks are a very tempting target and it takes a couple frustrating attempts at reasoning fall on finger stuffed ears. While being a glib rebuttal the two words that couve all I wish to impart are “as if”.

      The passage cited (1 Tim 5:8, NIV) reads: “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

      It’s clearly about how to treat relatives, widows and church elders. There’s no mention of believers having a duty to own weapons of any kind, let alone AR-15 assault rifles.

        Baldwin believes that “the South was right in the War Between the States”, and that the leaders of the Confederacy were not racists.

        Ron as I quoted above he does say christians should won the equivalent of an AR-15. That alone makes me wonder about him and his view of christianity. Then I read further and really wonder about his sanity and make up. He appears to feel that christians and jews should live in certain states as the rest of the country is unsafe for them. Persecution complex? Lastly his views on the Civil war are wrong and uneducated. So I was wondering from the former christians on here how they would address these issues. Thanks. Hugs

          I can only speak for myself, but the first two statements are completely out of sync with both the passage cited and the doctrines I was exposed to growing up. Had he preached that in my church, he would have been quickly defrocked and shown the door. Interestingly enough, Google maps show his former church (Crossroad Baptist Church 6800 Mobile Hwy Pensacola FL) as permanently closed, and the link to their website now leads to a Japanese dating/marriage page. However there is a Gateway Baptist Church occupying the same location, so I wonder if his pastoral retirement and sudden move to Montana may have been due to a major fallout between himself and his congregation. And a quick perusal of his website leads me to conclude he follows John Galt and Atlas Shrugged more fervently than he follows Jesus and the Bible. Where he departs company from other conservative Christians in in denouncing President Trump as a traitor to the Constitution.

          As for the third statement, I’m unable to comment because competing historical claims leave me uncertain about the underlying root causes and reasons behind the civil war.

          1. Thank you Ron for replying. I know the world has many different people who have many different ways, but I wonder why my first response was that the guy was dangerous. He maybe or he may not be, but I responded that way to what I read about him. I wonder if I would have reacted the same if he had not had a religion as his catalyst? If he had similar views but was not a preacher would I still have felt that he was a danger. I am pondering my own reaction to what I read. Hugs

        2. Got your email Scottie. There is an element in Christianity that are nutty and fearful and 100% believe apocalyptically. Believers with this mindset that become preachers, attract the same type of nuts, or create them always preaching fear, and using scripture they draw whatever (logical) conclusions they want to suite their need and justify their fear. This guy is a whacko. Westborough baptist does the same thing against gays. According to them, everything wrong in the world is your fault. These types of personalities should never have read a bible, as everything they do is a one discipline magnification always based on hate and fear in the name of god. Worse than an unbeliever? Lol. I would put yours or mine, or any of our moral compasses against any Christian because we care, not because we are obligated by gods. We care because we’re thoughtful, not of obligation to appease and angry god. At the end of the day, when Christians taut morality, it is always sexual morality that is their big deal, and the heathens don’t regard consensual sex as a sin, so it’s our fault the world is bad. But see, in Christianity, sex is the only thing that is wrong, and then it’s ok under their structure of marriage. No other sin is ok ever. Anyway, the gospel is supposed to bring peace and love, but it often creates the opposite. Just remember this simple rule in religion. If you ever hear something that doesn’t seem right, it isn’t right. Very simple but many try to overthink it.

            1. Revelation is a lifetime of guesses, hints, and it’s all stuff that has already happened. They just think next time it’s going to REALLY happen. It’s worth a look, but without bias commentary you’ll struggle with the codes. Everything the Bible has predicted has already happened. Human nature is cyclical and predictable. Nothing more.

All I remember about Revelations was that weird stuff was to happen, Satan gets to torture people, and then god comes back with his city New Jerusalem.             9. Probably the most telling verse in Revelation is the very first verse where John writes (NIV): The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. (Emphasis mine)

              How many years has it been now? A couple thousand or so? I always thought the word “soon” meant in the near future, shortly, or before long.

              As for your question related to metaphors … fundamentalist, inerrant bible-believing Christians take it all quite literally. Except the “soon” part, of course.

    Is the Christian approach to blast others? Sounds more like a sense of entitlement versus a religion.

          1. That’s understandable. Underinflated egos dont belong in religion otherwise people may tend to feel they might have wasted a number of years of their life. I’ve recently seen social media drama unfold and a quote from a recent high school graduate starting that the Church is always right. That scared me in many ways. They would certainly pass a background check and I’d bet a kidney that they are active voters.

            2. I have faith in spirit and well being. I’d put a devout Soldier who lives the Seven Army Values against a strong religious leader every time when it comes to integrity. Humans seem to thrive to believe in something.
