As long as there is text to read, China’s new AI news anchor can report the news from multiple locations 24/7. Patterned after a popular Chinese talking head, the AI anchor takes no breaks and reads English text tirelessly. While appearing to speak at times from both sides of his mouth, those of faith overlook this like seasoned professionals.
After being programmed and told what to say, tireless AI rambles on. Of course we see the parallels to religion. After submitting your will to Allah or Jesus, parroting becomes quite natural—no thinking is necessary, and often disallowed to maintain order in the flock. What will Copeland and Osteen be able to do with this technology?
When Jesus returns it is predicted those who don’t believe will still not believe, and as I see it, we probably shouldn’t. All the world will see him return in his glory, and very likely AI Jesus will be the new god to an old idea. Able to appear to every televised/wired culture in their own language, Jesus will come down from the heavens satellites and be visible to the entire world. I wouldn’t put it past the wealthy pastoral types to run a hoax like this, they’ve been doing it for years on the largest scale they could muster. This would be no different.

Well, on the bright side, at least we can be rest assured you won’t fall for it! A hoax is the only type of second coming that will ever happen,so obviously it mot a thrilling idea. The entire idea is bad. I’m so sorry 😐 🎯

There wasn’t a first coming either as far as I can figure.

We have poor luck throwing good money after bad. The airlines wouldn’t budge either. United! There’s your shout out. It was all very unfair and ridiculous (and maddening) We’ve flown that route 20 times.

Nice read Sir. I think nobody really believes any of it if they have a moment away. Interesting too, all of the absolute truth in fundamental belief is totally subjective. Faith only thrives in the vacuum from evidence. That’s why the preemptive warnings are so important. I remember exactly where I was in Panama when I declared my freedom. No earthquakes, no lightning, but it was a great calm, and an intense awareness came over me that I’ve got this. I always had. Good to see you Pink.

Really? As ideas developed more firmly in my mind, I felt reasonably angry. I felt I wasn’t given a good outline of most probable reality/history/politics.

I’m on a different walk than you Pink. I felt betrayed for a bit, then all I could do is chuckle. They got me! Good one guys. Atheism is easier to admit than gay in the church. Especially during the heat when you grew up. I can totally understand your “Really”. I just left a comment over at Taboos about embracing your feminine side. We all have it, and mine stands out a little more than others at times. Whenever someone would comment about it in my past I used to get angry. Now I say thank you. Repression of our true selves, both sides, men and women, is a roadblock on the path to contentment. We must be allowed to embrace our masculine and feminine sides or live conflicted our entire life.

Btw, I’ve been called several times by very close friends (open-minded tribesmen & women) a Metrosexual and by a few “Shy Bicurious.” LOL Don’t mind either descriptions because it JUST DOESN’T MATTER in the long-term. Who we are and being true to that is what matters most. In doing that you also honor and show integrity to those close to you. 🙂

Well don’t human newscasters read from a screen or at least use one to deliver a prepared message , Mr Trump has his own prepared message so anything else is fake. How do we know we are not talking to an intelligent bot on the internet ? Can we really detect real humanity , I say real humanity tongue in cheek what’s the difference between real humanity and just humanity ? Are you a real Christian or just a Christian?
Certainly many preachers seem unreal because sadly they have lost their own ideas , they have given up on themselves , but often I’m guilty of saying what I aught to say rather than what I want to say.
The sex industry is very busy making ‘ real female dolls ‘ and there is a big take up — hey do remember that old song Got myself a walking talking living doll? significant eh?
Now the super intelligent Nick Bostrom has me in a fix with his thoughts and complicated mathematics on the speculation we may be living in a simulation which would make the AI newscaster a simulation within a simulation , not that worries Nick he also talks about stacked simulations. Now where was I –it’s no good I’ve lost myself , that of course is if I really am myself.

We are certainly drawn to artificial. Fiction outsells nonfiction 3-1, and the mannequins? Virtual porn? Gaming? All forms to distract us from the inherent boredom of living in someone else’s world? I guess we’ve come a long way from the blow-up dolls with the bright red lips of the 70s Lol. Or regressed, hell, I can’t even tell.
I have a lot on my mind lately. Have you ever seen grid patterns in the evening sky? Like graph paper with dots at the intersections.

That was a great movie. And as confusing as real dreams. I have died in a dream before. It didn’t kill me, but I didn’t know it at the time. It shook me, but to die is but a pin prick of time. What leads up to it is the hard part.

Perhaps it is not too bitter sweet after all to die a sweet death in a sweet dream within a bitter sweet dream. . . . .

Perhaps. The dying was the easy part for sure. Waking up after was a slow stagger into reality. I was actually surprised to be alive.

Possibly. Mouthing “don’t die” to yourself may be the key to a longer life, but the final stages of mental incapacitation will eventually win out.

That’s exactly what it is – programming; and, I should know because I was a programmer – computer, that is, not religious.

Christianity is built on layers and layers, years of evolving cover up. The religion is now all cover stories. How the hell can anyone wade their way out when the search takes you round and round lost in the desert? Programmers keep building as well, but we have actual products with tech support.

The question then becomes … has anyone determined that he’s actually a “Christian”?

I don’t think he is. He mays say it now and then, but not a true Christian. He’s all over the Catholic map in a buffet style musical philosophy.

I’ve never heard that term moist robots. Can you prove we are not? Certainly their are many reasons one comes to atheism. Mine had nothing to do with science or evolution. I don’t really let anyone speak in my behalf. My atheism is an non belief in the god you can’t even describe.
LikeLiked by 1 person
No, of course nobody can “prove” that we are or are not robots, or “prove” that we are or are not entities in a simulation, etc. Given that state of affairs, the question is, what conceptual framework is most conducive to a good life?
And no, I certainly can’t describe the “god” you have in mind in your non-belief. I would think that’s up to you. In any case, if you yourself can’t describe the “god” you have in mind in your non-belief, then you certainly can’t fault me for that.

Maybe belief in god is false…and atheism is false. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle with nearly every system. I would place an actual knowledge of the natural powers of the earth around the civilizations of the Egyptians and Mayan, where belief actually had power to manipulate the elements. Maybe we’re both wrong Loy.

@jim – Indeed, I have no doubt we’re both wrong, along with everybody else. None of us possesses perfect knowledge, or the whole-truth-and-nothing-but.

Actually atheists don’t say this at all. We aren’t programmed at all. We are a random combination of parental DNA with a few random mutations, placed in a deterministic environment. Quite different from a programmable artificial life form that is a robot. Your penchant for straw man arguments is impressive. It’s especially fun since you hide behind your undefined God when asked for evidence of your beliefs, but then mischaracterize what atheists think at every turn. Furthermore, all atheism means is a lack of belief in God or Gods. That’s it. There can be quite a lot of divergence in what atheists think about free will and the nature of the universe.

Oh. So what does that mean, exactly?

We don’t believe in that which can only be barely comprehended by humans in terms of metaphors and grounds reality. Feel better? Really Loy. Ever heard there old proverb “When the wise man points at the moon, the fool looks at the finger”. Stopping looking at the finger. You are constantly missing the point.
LikeLiked by 2 people
You’re quite right, I completely miss the point of atheism, which is why I keep asking.
LikeLiked by 1 person
You obviously have missed both points then , Loy, from your arguments no one here understands you points on god…And neither do you. You can’t even comprehend what you believe in. Quite a futility of effort when you yourself, continually fail to add any thing that makes sense.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Actually that’s not what you asked. And that’s my point… The one you keep missing. It’s like you aren’t even hearing what you are saying. You make a baseless argument. It gets refuted and you ask a completely meaningless question or make an unrelated point. It’s like your basic comprehension skills to even what you yourself are saying are minimal. You criticize things you don’t understand and believe in something you don’t understand which forces one to wonder what you actually do understand.

I don’t know what a moist robot is
But, it’s christians who tell me that we are nothing more than robots, after all all we do have already been predetermined from the beginning of time, every action we take has to be permitted by the all knowing director, we don’t have any choice we are just playing a script where there is only one path and event can follow.
According to this we are not even robots at least robots have some autonomy
According to the christian worldview we are nothing more than mindless machines
