Human Evolution—Natural Selection = Mental Regression?

If it is true (and it seems to be) that fitness outperforms advanced levels of perception (Hoffman Theory) it is quite possible the advanced, yet extinct higher civilizations of the past simply knew too much about reality. Humanity’s greatest, enduring structures built out of natural materials—still a mystery as to how it was done. Massive complex societies gone without a trace. Perhaps the present species of humans are inept enough to outlast them through belief.

Fitness does not mean smarter. “From a biological perspective, there is no such thing as devolution. All changes in the gene frequencies of populations–and quite often in the traits those genes influence–are by definition evolutionary changes. The notion that humans might regress or “devolve” presumes that there is a preferred hierarchy of structure and function” (1)

Anthropocentric thinking has us at the pinnacle of existence (in our own minds) and maybe that persistent, false sense of superiority is our best chance at survival? It certainly isn’t a true perception of reality, but is a belief that keeps us from knowing too much, which is good for longevity.

I don’t really think we’re as smart as we used to be. The world is now full of end users led by a handful of innovators. Giza, Machu Pichu, and others, were complete societies of craftsman, artisans, engineers, and genius know how, while we are a large lot of specialists.

Following the trend in common sense it appears we have evolved to luke-warm overall intelligence with a smattering of self righteous imagination, which is apparently good for fitness.

History of the World in Human Time

Most people have no idea how young humans are. We are infants. “If January 1st 2019 were the beginning of earth, and December 31st the current day, each day would represent about 12million years (for a 4.3billion years-old earth)

—Bacterium would have formed February 1st and fish November 20th.

—That’s the history of the world compressed into one year for perspective—But 70billion light years ago Yahweh was tinkering with a human genome to get his Adam, laying the groundwork to have lights in the heavens his man could never see.

The real trick is going to see if we can make it til 12:01… We have advanced for economics sake faster than our evolution, and faster that our rememberable history. What we need now are minds that can perceive and plan for long term, slow motion, earthtime processes, or we may just find the greatest threat to ever face the planet is the prolific homo-sapien, created in the image of god.

The Native American Before Christian Spoil

A first-hand recount of William Penn from 1687, telling of his interactions with the natives.

“But what is most striking in Penns delineation of the Indians character, is the often repeated eulogy of the Indians natural piety. Again and again he dwells on the fact that the Indian shames the Christian in the sincerity of his religious belief and the correctness of his moral conduct”.

Describing the frugal meal that satisfies them, “pumpkin without butter or spice, the bare ground for a table, shells for spoons and leaves of the forest for plates”, he winds up exclaiming, “these wild men who never in their life heard Christs teaching of temperance and contentment, herein far surpass the Christian”

Ten years later he goes on again with his praises; “They live far more contented and unconcerned for the morrow than we Christians. They do not over-reach in trade. They know nothing of our everlasting pomp and stylishness. They neither curse nor swear, are temperate in food and drink, and if any of them get drunk, the fault of the Christians for the sake of accursed lucre”.

They intentionally liquored the Indians to cheat them. Even as absolute surety demonstrated the Indian surpassed them in every way as human beings, they still sought them to Christ as the only way of true living. It most certainly is not, but may soon become such through attrition—our course is set.

He said; “meanwhile, we use the wild man for day labor and gradually acquire their language and make them acquainted with the teachings of Christ”—1687

The arrogance of monotheism and the conceit of faith is not a virtue. We have little hope but a Herculean breakthrough of some type or another. It won’t come by belief, but by uncultured minds that don’t yet know it’s not possible.

Headcanon—The Imaginary Christian Backstory

Headcanon is an idea, belief or aspect of a character’s personality or physicality that is present in a piece of fanwork that does not correspond with information present in the canonical material.

For instance, it is largely accepted in the west that Jesus was white and is overwhelmingly depicted with elegant features and hair. Only makes sense, right? But evidence suggest that misses the mark.

The average Palestinian of the time was 5’1″. Using anthropological data and clues from the Bible, it is most likely Jesus looked something like this:

Jesus blended to the general population enough that Judas had to single him out from the apostles and was a working carpenter, so it is likely “if” the pretended messiah actually existed, he was far from the current depictions. While white Jesus certainly sells more tickets, it is highly unlikely he looked anything like the figure-head they’ve glorified.

There are many aspects of Christianity today although popular, have nothing to do with the original—the current state of the money changers church and religion being two of them. Be interesting to see pictures of this Jesus flaunt the halls of your favorite supremacy gathering.

Urracá—The Power of Unity

The Indigenous Peoples March in Spokane happened over the weekend. Latinagem (my wife) was invited to attend, while others from tribes across the US, Latin America, and the world marched for indigenous preservation and awareness (D.C. we witnessed how far we have yet to go).

On the way home, she stopped by the grocery store wearing her Ngäbe-Buglé native dress from Panama 🇵🇦 and the seas parted. People opened doors, paid respect, made way, complimented her politely, and extremely courteous—like a royal. That, got me to thinking (of course) about the colonials need to assimilate the natives and erase their histories. Other than outright theft of wealth, but because they naturally commanded respect in their own element—a threat.

I realize that’s a book and movie, but the words ring true—only propaganda of the ‘savage redskin’ relegated them to sub-human.

The attack on an encampment of Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians by Colorado volunteer soldiers that left an estimated 200 dead in 1864. In 1890, the Seventh Cavalry butchered 300 Native Americans at Wounded Knee—and on and on it went.

In Latin America it was no different. Propagandizing and stereotyping among humans is as old as religion. Justifying your cause by demonizing the “enemy” gets volunteer recruits to do your killing.

Atrocities too numerous for a blog post, Bartolomé de las Casas recorded—”We can estimate very surely and truthfully that in the forty years that have passed, with the infernal actions of the Christians, there have been unjustly slain more than twelve million men, women, and children. In truth, I believe without trying to deceive myself that the number of the slain is more like fifty million”.

This weekend the plight of the American Natives continued. A history, culture, and language erased, with permanent cultural and genetic erasure on the horizon through DNA testing. We all share 99.9% DNA. It’s .1% that separates us all. With Native American sampling’s extremely low (distrust) it is in the near future that, because the history of mankind is one of migration, eventually it comes full circle and there will be no classified native anything. Now the tribes are fighting for their identity and land based on culture and tradition. They know who they are, we just have no use for that any longer.

The conquest of Panama was more political tale. After beating back of the Spaniards for several years by Urracá (who succeeded in making alliances with tribes that had been traditional enemies) Bought the Ngäbe-Buglé enough time to relocate to the mountainous regions of Panama to preserve their way of life. Only in In 1997, after years of struggle with the Panamanian government, the Ngäbe were granted a comarca, or semi-autonomous area. The majority now live within its boundaries with about 250,000 native speakers. A success story how one mans ability to unite, was able to hold back the tides of assimilation for 500 years. Finally captured by conquistadors and heading out of port on a Spanish ship, Urracá escaped heroically to continue the struggle to preserve old Panama.

This is my wife’s heritage surviving and thriving on the Azuero Peninsula where Urracá called home. This is my home. The fortitude, tenacity, and genius of the men and women is still amazing as it was 500 years ago. American natives south, central, and north—a heritage worth preserving.

During 1917 Marcel Duchamp entered an upside-down toilet signed, R. Mutt, into an art exhibit. The Society of Independent Artists’ salon in New York—which claimed that they would accept any work of art, so long as the artist paid the application fee. The toilet was initially rejected as a hoax, but then admired, lauded as “groundbreaking”, when the true identity of the artist was discovered. Duchamp’s Sokal style hoax had worked. “Whether Mr Mutt with his own hands made the fountain or not has no importance. He CHOSE it. He took an ordinary article of life, placed it so that its useful significance disappeared under the new title and point of view—created a new thought for that object.” Others who had followed Duchamp’s work closely, recognized the groundbreaking power of the work.

Crossing the Line

Escaping religion required me to cross over into the neighbors pasture. At night and under the cover of darkness, spreading open the barbed wire meant to protect me, I would venture into his fields. I later learned the fence was there to keep me in, not the other way around. I can distinctly remember the change, that feeling of uneasiness venturing into forbidden paths—but nothing is the way I was warned.

Exploring Washington’s train tunnels is fascinating. Three long tunnels connect the east to the west, shortening track and steep climbs by hours, opening up into a new climates and breathtaking views.

One such tunnel under Snoqualmie Pass has been decommissioned and is now a hiking trail (although most people just drive over it unaware it exists) that in 2.3 miles connects the east and west.

Built in 1910, straight as a string, you can see a pinhole of light at the other end. It’s about a 45 minute walk, and the view at the end is incredible. The men that dug this and built this railroad performed an astonishing feat for the time.

Enter religion—

Religion has an uncanny way of digging itself in—there is no light at the end of the tunnel. The line is not straight and has wandered “to and fro, from the north and even to the east” to seek the answers of life’s questions…and nothing. When does the spectacular view emerge as you break out into the light? No one can say—just keep digging. All the while, no unfinished project boondoggle is too long for religion. Never a breakthrough in a never ending struggle for relevance. Faith is the ultimate play on the human psyche.

And into the dark

Uninhabitable – The Idaho Wilds and Religion

Going for a long drive today thru Sunday to surprise my pops for his 85th birthday. To get to southern Utah from NE Washington I had a couple of choices—I-84 through Boise to I-15, or take the Idaho panhandle on I-90 crossing a good chunk of Montana, and finally back into SE Idaho on I-15. I’m staying in Blackfoot and have another 7 hours to drive after 10 hours today. So much of Idaho is uninhabitable for humans. 115 mountain ranges and 5 million acres, including the number 1 most remote place in the lower 48 states, means you have to avoid most of it and go around it. Central Idaho’s multiple rugged mountain ranges makes it a long, long drive. Without avoiding the tough places, it would be near impossible to get through it.

Religion has a similar story. If you stick with the easy roads and the good parts, it doesn’t sound like a bad trip. The catch phrases along with the kind stories and gentle scriptures hold little solace when comparing the “rest of the story” which is most of it. If you had to get to Utah through the wilderness of Idaho, chances are you’d never even attempt the trip. With religion, make sure you check out the bad parts first. If you do, you may just go another way altogether. The road around the truth is just a fraction of its roots.

Quantum Retrocausality – Changing Truth

It is an important feature in Christianity that none of the writers or founders were present when the alleged events took place. Enough time had past that no living person had seen the events to dispute them with knowledge of fact, effectively changing the past by manipulating the future through choice dependent ignorance—a type and shadow of religious devotion and a real principle of physics that is where a decision is in front of you and you don’t know if you are going to choose “a” or choice “b” because you don’t know enough about the facts to make a choice. As you pause in limbo (ignorance is required at this phase) deciphering what little information you have to go by, history lays in the balance. Choice “a” is to make no changes, choice “b” is to make the change and accept the story. Note here that actual knowledge of the history (or of the partícle behavior) negates the effect of retrocausality—Retrocausality or Backwards causation is a concept of cause and effect where the effect precedes its cause in time. The magic with physics is being able to get your point across before people start sleeping, but brevity and physics are not friends, so bare with me.

Altering the parameters of the double slit experiment after its initiation can change the manifestation of the particle to a wave or viceversa—retroactively! The particles hold no virtue or predicability but behave in specific ways based on how or if they are observed. It is quite fascinating actually. Researchers have shown by interrupting or manipulating the experiment after the photons have been fired, changed the entangled electrons results after the readings were recorded by the device—yes, retroactively, meaning they are going back in time changing the record and the results. These particles and waves are not related to the handwaving, virtue signaling, interruptions, retroactive changes in the records embraced by apologetics, but it shows the origin of the behavior at the quantum level, and by so doing have effectively changed history for 2.5 billion people. Ignorance is the key to successful religion, and since ignorance is the prevailing m.o. to faith, it’s history can be changed and explained away without regret, literally to them, not in a figurative sense. Retroactive causality proves science can prove religion after all.
