Mountains, Devils, and Gods

How the men of words used natural phenomena to control entire cultures

Since only about the past 3 centuries have mountains been explored and climbed. Historically, in them dwelt the gods, God, or devils and monsters. Folk lore is rich with misunderstandings of geology and what lay in the high places—including lore of the Bible.

“And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.” Exodus‬ ‭20:18‬ ‭KJV

We can all easily imagine all these descriptions are that of a volcanic process, but what about the trumpet? For thirty days prior to an eruption in Hawaii, these sounds were recorded (there are others as well) that describe the high pressure venting of gasses pressing through fissures. But like any good preacher, the Moses character takes advantage of the crisis.

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.” Exodus‬ ‭20:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If the people survive this, he has the control over them for a lifetime. If not, meh, the dead never write nor have much to say. That technique has enslaved billions for millennia in multiple civilizations. It was a bold play on primitive ignorance.

Today mountain climbing is merely a hobby and studying them is a profession. We routinely climb the once forbidden domains of god without fear of meeting him face to face, because it is an imagínate being. It always has been a superstitious misunderstanding of the natural world that has empowered the men of words. Thank you geologists!

The Words of Lana

How confrontational accusatory egos bring atheists closer to Jesus.

After a successful day of hive hunting with the kids, I stumbled upon a queen-bee (Lana) that hadn’t left the hive yet for hibernation. I think she finally may after today.

This is the most arrogant and egotistical of all the arguments I’ve been blessed with. From her post “Right…” which she has removed and deleted David K and my comments after tagging atheism in settings.

“When you truly know God and have a close relationship with Him you don’t have to worry about keeping faith. Only a false Christian would lose faith”

And…

“I stand by my words. No true Christian loses their faith. You may question God sure, but you never leave Him. You were never one to begin with Jim. It sounded like you tried to win favour so hard by works yet we are saved by grace when we love God and surrender”.

After my courteous reply about ego, arrogance, and judging others level of faithfulness, she told me “shame on you for running an atheist blog” and closed comments down. I don’t think her faith is as powerfully strong as she implied. Zealots are rarely mentally ready for the big leagues.

Her background in the occult, yoga, and new age, coupled with her surrender to Jesus, is a neurological trap sprung from gullible tradition, suckered by the feel-good lies of TB’s.

Primed first as a child, left jesus to practice various sorcereries. To return to the God she grew up with was an easy neuropathway to reconnect, floods of dopamine (I mean the spirit) confirming old habits die hard—she will be an atheist before New Years if she’s not already. That’s how she came in to the world, that’s how one should leave it. Those that spout the hardest have the most doubt, and she pulls no punches when it comes to seeking validation. It’s obvious she only knows the words…Here’s her latest post if your interested (I’ve given it a half star rating just for the conspiracy crap)

One thing about religious convictions—they are beautifully suited to the arrogance of the week [sic]. I do feel for her as faith crisis is a troublesome time, but when you finally leave the ego/god complex behind, true love emerges for the first time and freedom rings. But first…growing pains. It’s hard to admit you’ve been suckered.

Great eyes for hives. She found both of them

And a happy crazy-eyes bee-hive hunting grandson! Why does he always do that? Lol

A beautiful day in the fall mountains.
